Gents sing! Saint & Sinners Thursday June 8

Gents, this note below from John McCulla re the annual rite: singing for SBC's Saints & Sinners, 6/8/17 (Thursday evening) @ 5:00 PM. Dress will be summer sporty/casual.

Please email Wayne at sloughwm@vcu.edu indicating whether you will be able to join in. As you'll see from John's note, your spouses are welcome!

Thanks,

Wayne

The Saints and Sinners would be very pleased if the Gentlemen of St. Bridget join them again at their Annual "Spring Into Summer" Dinner that will take place on Thursday, June 8th at 5:00 pm.  The theme for the dinner this year is "A Traditional Summer Church Picnic."  Allen Bean has this on his schedule and is thinking about songs for our group to sing that fits this theme.

I would think that Allen would want all choristers to arrive about 5:00, wet their whistle with a cold bottle of IPA, and then practice at 5:30.  Dinner  will be served at 6:00, and our entertainment would take place as dessert is being served and enjoyed - say about 6:40.

Of course the gents are encouraged to bring their brides!  It is truly an enjoyable evening!

Many thanks for extending the invite to our SBMM Singing Brothers!

Best,

John

WHEN PEOPLE COME TOGETHER, INCREDIBLE THINGS HAPPEN

From the Dynamic Catholic, courtesy of Marc K:

Since the beginning of Best Lent Ever, I have had more people than ever before tell me how inspired they were by the daily videos from the Dynamic Catholic staff and myself. So I want to share with you who inspires me, as well as an ancient spiritual practice that is a great source of inspiration for me.

The most inspiring people I know are our Ambassadors. This passionate group of men and women, of all ages and from all over the country, makes personal sacrifices to support everything we do at Dynamic Catholic.

The fruit of their generosity is overwhelming. Just this year, more than 600,000 people joined us for Best Lent Ever, and more than 430,000 people received a copy of one of our books at Easter.

But what’s even more significant is that the Ambassadors made it possible for us to develop Blessed, the Dynamic Catholic First Communion & First Reconciliation Experience. The excitement around the release of this groundbreaking program has been astounding. In just under two months we’ve already received more than 14,000 pre-orders! That’s more than we ever dreamed of.

Thank you for being a part of this and for sharing Blessed with your family, friends, and parish. This program is going to change the way your children and grandchildren experience the Catholic faith, and it is perhaps the most important program we will ever produce.

I’m amazed at what can happen when people come together.

Knights of Columbus Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month

Expelled from their homes by ISIS, hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern Christians live in exile.

They lack much, including life-saving medical care.

This April, which marks Genocide Awareness and Prevention Month, the K of C needs your help. With your financial and prayerful assistance, the Knights of Columbus Christian Refugee Relief Fund can continue supporting the St. Elizabeth University’s Project for Iraq in Need, which brings healing and hope to Christian refugees and genocide survivors. For details, check out this moving interview with Dr. Zuzana Dudová.

Please help us spread the word about the genocide in the Middle East. Also, prayerfully consider giving to the Christian Refugee Relief Fund. To donate, click here.

Pregnancy Resource Center Walk for Life

Brothers and Members of the Men's Ministry,

Just a reminder that Carol and I will be walking in the Walk for Life to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center of Metro Richmond on Saturday, April 29, at 10:00 a.m.  It is a peaceful walk, no signs or protests, about 2 miles total on beautiful Monument Avenue.  The walk begins at the Immanuel Baptist Church at the corner of Thompson and Monument.  Please join us for a stroll.  But, if you can't make it, you can support the PRC with a pledge for our walk.  No money due now, just send your name, full mailing address, and the amount you'd like to pledge to Mike at ckoz654@aol.com, and the PRC will send you a bill.  No amount is too large or too small!

After the Walk for Life, K of C Council 395 provides a hot dog lunch, or head over to the French Food Festival.  If you go to the FFF on Saturday, Carol and I will be serving beer from 1:30 until 4:30, come by and say howdy.

Thanks and Cheers!

Fraternally,

Mike K.

Paul Kitchen has established a sign-up genius for helping the LSOP and the perpetration for the FFF. Could you pass this along to the Men's Ministry?  Adult family members are welcome also to pitch in. Thanks!
