Shrine Trip—Saturday, March 7

Email from Mike:

Gents,

If you haven’t already signed up, please let me know (ckoz654@aol.com) by Wednesday afternoon if you plan to attend. I need to work with group reservations to secure tables for lunch at The Dubliner.

Here is the schedule. Please note that all activities are optional for the individual pilgrim ( except for our departure time):

6:20 a.m. Arrive at St. Bridget front parking lot for carpool

6:30 a.m. Prompt Departure

8:30 a.m. Coffee, etc. ( Shrine Cafeteria )

9:00 a.m. Guided Tour of the Shrine

10:00 a.m. Confessions available, private prayer, bookstore, gift shop

11:00 a.m. Private Mass celebrated by Father Patrick ( Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel on the Lower Level of the Shrine ) followed by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet

11:45 a.m. Rosary prayed in the Crypt Church (Lower Level of the Shrine) before the regular Shrine Mass at 12:10 p.m. in the Crypt Church

1:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross in the Cyrpt Church ( immediately following Mass)

1:45 p.m. (approximately) Meet back in Cafeteria. Departure for lunch at The Dubliner. Traditionally, clergy and drivers have lunch covered by the rest of the group. Please bring cash to pay your pro-rata share to the person who puts the bill on his credit card. We are usually in the $30-$40 range per person (usually closer to $30 and usually my credit card )

We depart for return to St. Bridget immediately following lunch and are back by 5:30-6:00 p.m. depending on traffic. Express lanes are open southbound on Saturdays as I recall, so bring or borrow an EZ-Pass if you’re going to be a driver.

If you can drive if needed ( depending on attendance ) please let me know and also respond with your mobile number so we don’t lose you during the day😀. It is my understanding that our St. Edward’s brothers will be meeting us up at the Shrine. Phil, if that’s not right, please let me know.

Best wishes for a Blessed Lent!

Fraternally,

Mike K.

March for Life— January 23

Email from Mike K:

Brothers,

I am unable to attend the March for Life this year, however, I’m hoping some of you can pick up the slack.  Darius Y is our bus captain again this year and Matt H is going to help him with boarding at St. Bridget. Hope you can go, it is very encouraging to see so many people witnessing to the sanctity of life in our Nation’s Capital and we can certainly use a dose of encouragement after what our Virginia General Assembly rushed through this week.

I have copied Darius above (djyazdgerdi@gmail.com); so people can contact him to reserve seats. Departures are currently scheduled for:

St. Edward’s 7:45 am

St. Bridget access road 8:15 am

Columbian Center 8:45ish

I don’t know how many seats still available, again, people should contact Darius to reserve seats.

Fraternally,

Mike K.
