Lenten Pilgrimage to The Basilica Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Saturday, February 24

Gents,

If you have not done so already, please let me know if you are coming with us by email at ckoz654@aol.com or text me at 804-519-0696.

Please include in your response whether you could be a driver ( if necessary) and how many passengers you can comfortably fit in your vehicle.  Please recall that driving traditionally garners you a free lunch and beverage at The Dubliner.

Here is the tentative schedule.  Please note that all components are truly optional. Except for our prompt morning departure time, you can spend your pilgrimage time however you see fit.  The bookstore and gift shop are both open while we are there, along with time for private prayer.

6:15-6:20  Gather in front parking lot of St. Bridget for carpool

6:29 Departure

8:30 Breakfast available in Shrine Cafeteria

9:00-10:00  Guided Tour of the Shrine

10:00-12:00 Confessions Available on Crypt Level

10:00-11:00  Visit to the Dominican House of Studies, which will include praying the Rosary in their beautiful Chapel, led by our guide, Brother Anselm

11:30 Private Mass in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel (lower level of the Shrine). Father Godfred had to bow out, but our friends from St. Edward’s are checking to see if Father Paul Kkonde can join us again.  If not, we will attend the Noon Mass in the Crypt Church at the Shrine.

1:00 p.m. ( immediately following Mass) Stations of the Cross in the Crypt Church

Approximately 2:00 p.m.  Lunch at The Dubliner.  Traditionally, clergy and drivers are treated by the group.

5:00-5:30 depending on traffic.  Arrive back at St. Bridget

Hope you can make it!

Mike K.
